The speed of changes facing the nowadays business organizations have not been noticed in the history. Trends in management, knowledge valuation and information technology have outstanding influence on the business goals and the way the are achieved.

Gathering in Warsaw, the capital of Poland, where a lot of enterprises learned quickly how to operate in spite of strong pression of environment and many problems unknown or forgotten in high-developed countries, we will think how the enterprise of the future will look like.

The purpose of the conference are:
  • analysis and evaluation of the business development oriented on knowledge management and technology management
  • specification of possibilities and conditions for implementing the concept of intellectual/learning organization in different business activities.
In eleven sessions we will present the latest methods and techniques evaluating their chances in business practice. We'll concentrate on already known dilemmas, phenomenas and mechanisms that considerably influence competitive environment and its operating entities, enabling or disabling surviving XXI century.

The conclusions from the conference may be used by developing enterprises for creating visions, missions and strategies, choosing methods and techniques in their organization and management. The conclusions are also devoted to R&D and educational organizations for helping them in creating and popularizing knowledge.

Problems issued for consideration:

1. Globalization and its impact on gaining competitive advantage of enterprises.
2. Organizational structures for enterprises of the future.
3. Methods and techniques in managing enterprise of the future.
4. Conditions and specific features of leaders and managers of the intellectual/learning organization.
5. To compete or to cooperate - the challenge of the future.
6. The role of government in nowadays economy.
7. Enterpreneurship and making innovations in enterprise of the future.
8. Standards and norms, improving and restructuring enterprise of the future.
9. The future of "new technology" enterprises - e-business and e-commerce.
10. Managing organizations basing on electronic marketplace and workplace.
11. Designing, implementing and exploiting future management systems.

Within the first day we will group papers on management concepts and practices, within the second day - on technology and information systems.

1. Conference fees

The youngest authors (30 years old and younger) of papers presented at the conference that will be found as the best by the Programme Council will be awarded with 1000 zlotych in each of the subjects.

Participation of the authors of accepted papers is free of charge.

The full charge for the conference includes the participation in all the days of the conference, conference materials and meals. The papers are submitted, presented and published in conference and postconference materials without any renumeration.

Organizers do not cover costs of travels and accomodation.

2. Format of papers and submission deadlines

Short versions of papers with summarys (please submit not more that 16 pages) will be given to the conference participants and published on the conference website as the conference materials. They will be also cited in the summaries of discussions and in the summary of conference within post-conference materials.

The papers must be submitted to the email pp@zti.com.pl till not later than 15th September 2001. Please give your first and last name, scientific title, institution, e-mail, phone, fax, detailed address of the institution, papers title, the group of conference problems (see point 1), 3-5 key words, abstract up to the 250 words, the body no more than 30 pages.

Format : Word version 7.0 or earlier, margins 1 inch, font Times pt, single spaces between lines.

Please submit by traditional post or by fax (ZTI Institute, ul. Biala 3, 00-895 Warsaw, fax no +48 22 654 5445) your undersigned approval for presentation and publication of the paper in the conference and post-conference materials, and also the record and Internet transmission of your presentation.

Successfull submission of the paper will be acknowledged by e-mail. Also by e-mail - till 15th October 2001 - we will inform if the paper has been accepted by the Programme Council.

The criteria for acceptation are:

- overall quality
- fulfillness of the subject of the conference and declared conference problem
- "newness" and research value


Discussions over the 11 topics of the Conference focus are going to be held within 10:00 am - 5:00 pm (15.XI.2001) and 9:00 am - 4:00 pm (16.XI.2001)

Lunch breaks at 1:30 pm - 2:30 pm
Banquet on 15th November at 7 pm

Conference fees:
corporate participants - PLN 1160 (+22% VAT)
